In the Permissions Section, you control what parts of the form are shown to different users at each task.

The first section will show what the person who starts the App will see. You can set the permissions for an entire sections, or field-by-field.

Unless you are working with a formula field, you will have three options: Editable, Read-Only, and Hidden. If a field is editable, you can add information. If a field is required, then the first time it is editable, it must be filled out.

Read-Only fields are viewed, but cannot be changed. Hidden fields are not shown at all.

By default, the initiator can edit all the fields, and the sections for every other task are read-only. You can customize these settings however you’d like.

The last tab is called All Tasks. Unlike the others, this tab controls the visibility of fields and sections across every step based on the data in them.

Choosing Conditional means that you only want a field to display if certain conditions are met. For example, I only want the question “Should Bruce Attend” to show up if the value of the project is above $1,000,000. (See here for all the logical functions you can use.)

The other two options are Visible and Hidden. Visible means the field shows at every task, unless you have hidden it for a certain one. Hidden means it is invisible at every task.
