Let’s look at the Travel Request App in KiSSFLOW. To start, install it from the Apps Tab.

When you look at the form, you’ll see several basic fields like name, email, and department. You can set these to populate automatically using some system formulas like this one.

The form also has sections to request specific travel and hotel accommodations and any additional costs. It also has a place to attach any tickets or other important documents.

Over in the workflow, each item is set to be approved by a supervisor and then to be processed by HR, the Travel Desk, and Finance. You might also add a step for a department head, but you can set it to only happen if the total amount is above $3000.

You could set the Travel Desk task and the Finance task to happen at the same time like this using a parallel branch if you wanted. Currently it is automatically set up that the Travel Desk task will only happen if reservations or ticketing is required and the finance task will only happen if there is money requested.

You can also set these steps up with a Goto forward hop if you prefer.

Over in the permissions tab, notice now the specifics of hotel and travel tickets will only display if the slider is set to yes. You might also want to hide some of the expenses from the HR processing or Travel Desk steps.

Finally we can adjust the settings for the app. I’ll change the subject to something like Travel Request from [employee name] to [to Location] on [departure date].

You can also extend this application. For example, you can link the Travel Reimbursement application to this one so that advance is automatically shown when adjusting for new claims.
